Santoker Asian Coffee Roasting Championship: Final Day in Bangkok
On 11 October, the Santoker Asian Coffee Roasting Championship reached its final day in Bangkok. After preparation and practice, roasters came together for the last competition round, bringing their knowledge and experience to the decisions in front of them.
Roasting under competition conditions asks for attention at every stage. Competitors worked with roast profiles, responded to changes in energy, and considered how each batch was developing. The work is both technical and sensory: decisions at the roaster matter because they shape what can later be evaluated in the cup.
For Espresso Academic, hosting the final day was a chance to support a gathering of people committed to learning and developing the coffee community. We were glad to see roasters put their preparation into practice and to share the campus with everyone who took part.
Congratulations to the competitors, and thank you to the organizers and participants who made the day possible. Earlier in the week, the campus also hosted a practice day for the championship.
