EA Roasting: From Heat Control to the Cup

1 min read

Our EA Roasting class brought students into the roasting process through observation, experimentation and practical work. Preparing the beans and watching their changes during roasting were part of the learning experience.

Students practised understanding heat control and the development of a roast, then connected the results with flavour in the cup. The class recap described each batch as a learning opportunity and each profile as an experiment.

Tasting after roasting gave the group a way to return to the decisions made at the machine. It supported discussion about what had happened and what students wanted to explore next.

Thank you to everyone who shared their questions and experience during the class. Explore the original photo album for more moments from the roasting room and cupping table.
