EA Basic and Advanced Barista: Learning Through Tasting and Practice
Coffee tasting, espresso preparation and plenty of milk pouring were at the heart of our EA Basic and Advanced Barista classroom recap. These photographs capture learners together at the bar, putting coffee knowledge into practice.
Our hybrid approach asked students to prepare before coming to class so they could make the most of the practical sessions. The two-day programme moved from Basic Barista foundations into Advanced Barista work and latte art.
Comparing coffees and Italian blends with espresso tasting sheets helped connect flavour with preparation. The programme then brought together espresso parameters, grinder adjustment, milk frothing for cappuccino, and classic drinks such as espresso macchiato.
Latte art practice included pouring and etching, working on familiar shapes such as hearts, tulips and rosettas. Thank you to the learners who joined us to taste, practise and learn together. The original classroom album is below.
