SCA Barista Intermediate: Practice at MunMun Srinakarin
Updated: 4 days ago
The espresso bar at MunMun Srinakarin was the setting for these SCA Barista Skills Intermediate classroom moments. Our original photographs bring us back to the learners, the equipment and the practical work that connects coffee knowledge with preparing a drink.
The three-day programme covers coffee varieties, processing and roast levels before moving into the espresso machine, grinder and six familiar coffee drinks. Students explore how water hardness, alkalinity and total dissolved solids relate to brewing, alongside tasting espresso for aroma, acidity, sweetness, body, bitterness and aftertaste.
Repeated practice with grind adjustment, extraction and milk steaming gives those topics a practical setting. Thank you to everyone who shared the classroom with us. Browse the original photographs for a closer look at learning behind the bar at Espresso Academic Thailand.
