Our January 2026 Colombia journey took coffee learning into farms and laboratories. Travelling through Bogotá and Popayán, the team spent more than ten days learning at origin, listening to scientists, producers, farmers and processors.

The visit connected practical data with the experience of people who work with coffee every day. Our original album includes this close view of laboratory work, with a microscope beside a sample being handled with a pipette.

Science, local knowledge and shared experience were recurring themes in the journey. Spending time at origin gave us more opportunities to ask questions, observe the work and understand the decisions behind the coffees we discuss in our classrooms.

Explore the original album below for more from the journey. This story sits alongside our earlier Road to Coffee Hunter introduction and the visit to Wilton’s farm.
