Kathmandu: SCA Brewing Foundation Meets the UAC AeroPress Championship
Kathmandu, Nepal • September 2026
Eighteen competitors brought their recipes, techniques and concentration to the UAC AeroPress Championship Kathmandu, part of our AeroPress Master Class and SCA Brewing Foundation programme at White Blossom Barista School. The programme connected classroom learning with the challenge of making a cup under pressure.
In class, participants worked with coffee-to-water ratio, grind size, water, temperature, brew time, pouring and agitation. Tasting and recipe adjustment helped them connect a change in preparation with a change in the cup. The aim was to understand why a recipe worked and how to respond when the result changed.
The competition gave that work another setting. Timing, technique and execution had to come together in a single brew. Different recipes and approaches made comparison part of the experience, while the atmosphere brought plenty of cheering and conversation alongside the concentration.
Nattawat Muangsiri served as Head Judge for the Kathmandu event. The published round updates followed competitors through the challenge, and our closing recap celebrated the course graduates, competition winners and everyone who took part.
Thank you to White Blossom Barista School and the Kathmandu coffee community for making this programme possible. Seeing students finish the course, share their achievements and form new friendships was a memorable end to the visit.
