Our SCA Barista Skills Intermediate class in Kathmandu brought students together for four full days, with eight hours of in-person learning each day. Working side by side gave the group time to practise, taste, adjust and ask questions as their confidence developed.

The course connected water chemistry with espresso extraction, tasting and evaluation. Students also worked on grinder adjustment, milk preparation, latte art and drink preparation, bringing the theory into practical café scenarios. Each session built on the one before it.

Repeated practice and direct feedback were central to the four days. Students could return to a task, try an adjustment and experience the result for themselves. The programme also included the final exam assessment, bringing the classroom work and practical skills together.

Thank you to Nepal Coffee Producers Association and HAMRO COFFEE for their continued support for coffee education in Nepal. The original class album below captures the people and hands-on work behind this Kathmandu training.
