Thai Latte Art Representatives at WLAGS 2022 in Abu Dhabi
Our WLAGS 2022 albums followed three Thai representatives to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Charuwan Bung-ngao in Black Jug, Nioey GuzzjungCafe in Red Jug and NatTi Ahgase in Green Jug. They joined competitors from around the world for three days of latte art competition.
The organiser’s programme placed the battle at the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition from 6 to 8 December 2022. LAGS announced the event together with its Gulf chapter, Brewever Consulting Co.; our later albums preserved the Thai team’s experience there.
Each battle focused on a pattern, with competitors choosing their design and cup size. Our recap described a single opportunity to steam milk, making planning and control part of the challenge. The second-day album remembered the excitement of progressing beyond the opening round.
Our final update reported fourth runner-up in Black Jug, fifth runner-up in Red Jug and eighth runner-up in Green Jug. Congratulations to our Thai representatives for the effort and experience they brought to the international stage. Natt’s own reflection described these placings as unofficial.
We also congratulated the event’s champions: Michele Hu in Black, Ouhaga Mounâïm in Red and Ivan De Rosa in Green. The albums preserve competition moments, the people involved and the celebration at the end.
In her own competition accounts, Sawaros Sangsuk thanked Natt and Espresso Academy Thailand for helping make the opportunity possible. Her sponsor credits included the academy alongside the other supporters of the trip.
Natt’s departure update described taking the Thai representatives to the competition. Afterwards, he reflected on the friendships formed through learning and the experience of working in an unfamiliar language, culture and set of competition rules.
