Q Grader Day 6 in Bangkok: A Week of Coffee Evaluation Comes Together
Bangkok, Thailand • September 2026
Six days, countless cups and many rounds of smelling, tasting, comparing and discussing. The final day of our September Q Grader course brought the week’s work together at Espresso Academic in Bangkok.
Throughout the course, students practised observing coffee more carefully and communicating what they perceived. Aroma, taste, comparison and calibration returned again and again, asking for attention even as the days became demanding.
One of the lessons in our closing recap was that better sensory evaluation does not mean feeling certain all the time. It means being able to observe, question, compare and support a decision. Taking time to recheck an impression and explain it to someone else is part of that work.
By the final day, those habits connected the individual exercises into a broader approach to coffee quality. Smelling with intention, tasting with attention and making more consistent comparisons are skills to keep practising long after a class ends.
Congratulations to everyone who reached the final day, and thank you for the commitment you brought to six intensive days of learning. We were proud to share this week with you.
The course has finished, but there are always more coffees to taste and more questions to ask. Browse the original final-day album below for the people and moments that closed the week.
