Coffee flowers, cherries and a visit to Wilton’s farm in Colombia in the original Eugenioides photograph.

Our visit to Wilton’s farm in Colombia brought coffee learning into the place where the plants grow. The January recap described more than 30 coffee varieties at the farm and time spent learning about Eugenioides among that diversity.

The experience connected tasting with observations at origin. Seeing the plants and discussing their cultivation gave the team more context for a coffee often encountered as a sample or competition coffee.

The original photograph brings together the farm visit, flowers and coffee cherries, connecting the learning encounter with the plants themselves. Experiences at origin add context that we can bring back to our tasting and teaching. Browse the original field notes below.
