EA Brewing in Bangkok: Learning Extraction Through Practice

Drippers, syphon brewers and AeroPress gave our EA Brewing learners several ways to explore extraction in Bangkok. Students repeated their brews, adjusted variables and compared the results, using the SCA Brewing Control Chart to help explain what was happening in the cup.

The aim was to understand the reasons behind a recipe. Changing a variable, tasting again and discussing the result helped students build a more systematic approach to brewing. The class brought together practical work, questions and shared observations.

In his account of the class, learner Surawan Wanniyom described a session that continued into the evening and opened up new ideas. He thanked instructor Emma for sharing AeroPress competition experience from Thailand and abroad, and instructor Bom for the opportunity to attend.
