CVA in Laos: Aroma Recognition and Learning Across Languages
Our first-day CVA recap from Laos brought together coffee professionals from Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and South Korea. Theory and practical learning connected coffee value from production through to the cup.
Aroma recognition was part of the day, followed by evening cupping and shared tasting calibration. Experienced Q Graders, Q Instructors and newcomers worked alongside one another, exchanging observations and helping everyone follow the discussion.
English, Vietnamese, Thai, Lao and Korean moved around the classroom as participants translated and supported each other. That willingness to share knowledge was one of the most memorable parts of the experience.
The update also celebrated our alumni contributing to coffee-quality evaluation at a national competition. It was a reminder of how learning continues beyond a course and through the wider coffee community. Browse the original classroom photographs below.
